Adam says: After adding the name markers to the Tibetan text page, it appears that the author may be [[kun dga' dpal 'byor]] based on the name markers in the last four lines of the colophon. [[Ringu Tulku]] does not list an author, and [[Dan Martin]]  [[A Catalog of the Gdams-ngag Mdzod]], 1993. lists [[kun dga' dpal]] as the author, but includes a question mark next to the name. I've attempted to record all of the people and their relationship to the text in the colophon, but this needs to be checked. Also, this text brings up the [[Kamalaśīla]]/[[pha dam pa sangs rgyas]] issue - the colophon says that [[pha dam pa sangs rgyas]] is [[Kamalaśīla]], and as mentioned in the Praise of the 80 Mahasiddhas, a scholar of the oral instructions, scripture, reasoning, grammar, and who had mastered the siddhi of longevity (4th line - /dam pa rin po che'i mtshan ni/_kA ma lA shI la yin la/_grub chen brgyad cu'i bstod pa las/_sgra tshad lung rig man ngag mkhas/_/rig 'dzin tshe yi dngos grub brnyes/)

As mentioned in the colophon, this text was propagated by ma jo mo ganga+ga'i lha mo'i sprul pa. khu sgom chos seng offered an explication of the text, as did zal mo brag pa.

The author of this commentary is unclear. Kongtrul says it is someone named drung sa ru pa (DNZ, vol. 18, p. 455, line 7), Dan Martin's catalog has kun dga' dpal 'byor which is apparently the same person.
