|notes = Author needs to be checked with Cyrus Stearns. Ringu Tulku Contents of the gdams ngag mdzod, 1999. lists the author as Lopon Padma, Dan Martin. A Catalog of the Gdams-ngag Mdzod, 1993. says the text is by mtsho skyes rdo rje, tr. by ga ya dha ra & bla ma shâkya ye shes (I think this is just applicable to the second text). There is some controversy over this issue, as is discussed in Ronald Davidson's book, "Tibetan Renaissance," - - Both Padmavajra and mtsho skyes rdo rje, (saroruhavajra), have Heruka listed as a student, so it is not clear that these are two people. Davidson has a point- pad+ma is 'a standard loan word' in tibetan, and the name mtsho skyes rdo rje would more likely be a translation of the Sanskrit Saroruhavajra. However, the first text is clearly attributed to Padmavajra, in the colophon, and both texts have been cataloged here under a title that clearly says Padmavajra is the author. I think that it is not unreasonable to think that the same person would have two names with two Tibetan translations, especially since mtsho skyes is so commonly interchangeable for padma. The cataloging for this volume currently reflects the authors and translators, etc., for each text exactly how they are listed in the colophons. Because TBRC has Padmavajra and Saroruhavajra listed with separate pages, I have made a page for the latter. | |totalpages=23 | ||

As the only available unicode Tibetan text at the time, Nitartha International's version of the Gdams ngag mdzod Paro Edition of the gdams ngag mdzod is provided here. However, note that it has not been thoroughly edited and that there may also be mistakes introduced through the conversion process. Eventually we will provide a fully edited version of the entire Shechen Edition, entered and edited multiple times by Pulahari Monastery in Nepal, but as of spring 2015 that project has not been finished. Note that the ཤོག་ལྷེ་ numbers that appear throughout were added by Nitartha Input Center at the time of input. Provided by Nitartha International Document Input Center. Many thanks to Person:Namdak, Tenzin and Person:Wiener, G. for help with fonts and conversion. |
