Some enumerations list him as the first abbot, as he significantly expanded the institution. He was an important teacher of the Prajñāpāramitā, and a key lineage holder of the Guhyasamāja and Kālacakra tantras as transmitted in the Geluk tradition, and the Kālacakra, Hevajra and Sampuṭa tantras as transmitted in the Sakya tradition. He is generally credited as the creator of the Tibetan Buddhist canon, the Kangyur and Tengyur, and his History of Buddhism is still widely read. In addition to his Sakya training he also studied in the Kadam and Kagyu traditions. http://treasuryoflives.org/biographies/view/Buton-Rinchen-Drub/2845 1290 1364 2025-06-13T19:49:18Z 2460840.3259028 2025-06-13T19:49:18Z 2460840.3259028 true Bu ston rin chen grub 0 1 template 3 [[Category:Tibetan Collections]] [[WorkAuthor::Bu ston rin chen grub]] Bu ston rin chen grub# QUERYc262eb5e1b8bd3f60d172b692388f865 0 0 count 2 [[Category:Tibetan Texts]] [[Category:Bu ston rin chen grub]] Bu ston rin chen grub# QUERY8c00f06c97c31dada25f9ab40ff25522 0 200 0 template 2 [[Category:Tibetan Texts]] [[Category:Bu ston rin chen grub]] Bu ston rin chen grub# QUERYb7d1fefbe02b1c7f18c5eeb498aad36f
