The Profound Innermost Essence is the concluding supplement to The Four Parts of the Heart Essence and is a commentarial summary of both The Innermost Essence of the Master and The Innermost Essence of the Ḍākinīs. The present section comprises a long empowerment ritual followed by two texts of guiding instructions. The first of these, A Great Guide for the Supreme Secret Path, contains several extremely concise (and therefore not easy to understand and translate) descriptions of methods for introducing the nature of the mind. The second text, The Heart of Practical Instructions, is related to the practice of tögal.
