The DNZ is a work in progress. The DNZ wiki is not a perfect representation of the contents of the gdams ngag mdzod. There are numerous problems that arise out of technical limitations, human (mis)judgement, and all the problems associated with Tibetan textual study and classification. Every page on the DNZ has a "discussion" or "talk" page that can be used to record discussions, issues, complaints, etc. (see the tab at the top of every page). Please use these areas for productive discussion and clarification. Errors can be noted there as well, but please also email us directly and we will do our best to make an immediate change. If your comment is more complex than pointing out a clerical error, you should try to cite a source of some kind. For instance, do not email and say, NO, THIS TEXT IS BY ATISHA. That doesn't help anyone. Be specific, site the URL of the page you are talking about in your email, and give a reason for the change you would like to see.

Please feel free to contact us about any errors you notice at Research@tsadra.org.

We have tried to record as many of the problems we have come across here: Gdams ngag mdzod problems page

A special note on Tibetan titles: MediaWiki software does not allow for long Tibetan titles to be displayed as the main title of a page. We have followed the Tibetan Wikipedia in simply listing the beginning of a title with ellipses at the end to show that there is missing information and then including the full title at the top of the page. This means that the title [[ཀློང་སྡེ་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཟམ་པ་ཉམས་ལེན་བཞི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་དང་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་མངོན་རྫོགས་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཕྲིན་ལས་ ་ ་ ་|ཀློང་སྡེ་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཟམ་པ་ལས། ཉམས་ལེན་བཞིའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་དང་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་མངོན་རྫོགས་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཕྲིན་ལས་གསལ་བར་བཀོད་པ་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་]] will appear as [[ཀློང་སྡེ་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཟམ་པ་ཉམས་ལེན་བཞི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་དང་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་མངོན་རྫོགས་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཕྲིན་ལས་ ་ ་ ་]] on its own page. This will not cause any confusion for most users as we employ piped links to make the full title appear on all other pages. However, if you wish to create a new page in Tibetan on this wiki the issue will soon come to your attention. Again, please contact Research@tsadra.org with any questions.

This database is for use by scholars in the field of Tibetan studies and is provided freely by the Tsadra Foundation. Feel free to use the database for scholarly research or teaching, simply give proper citation when required by the general norms of academia.
